October Meeting -Michael Kashiwagi of Maryland DNR

Our featured speaker for October is Michael Kashiwagi of Maryland DNR.

Michael is the Freshwater Fisheries Regional Manager for Frederick and Washington counties and the upper Potomac River. Originally from Montgomery County, he has been with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources since 2007. Prior to that he worked for the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game. He has a master’s degree in Fisheries Science from Mississippi State University. He will be speaking to us on the status of Smallmouth bass of the upper Potomac River.

September Meeting – Ryan Alunni

Our featured speaker for September is Ryan Alunni. Ryan guides on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River and will be speaking to us about a typical year there. He also offers a variety of custom jig heads for sale. Ryan can be contacted at alunnir2@yahoo.com

August Meeting – Steve Chaconas

Our speaker this month, Captain Steve Chaconas, is no stranger to PRSC.  Steve will be speaking to us about how finesse fishing doesn’t mean small fish. It gets the tough bite but will tell you a lot more. He guides for largemouth bass and northern snakeheads on the Potomac River all year. 

Steve’s work has been featured in a variety of local and national publications as well as on TV and radio: BASSMASTERS, BASS TIMES, BASSIN’ Magazine, Field & Stream, BoatUS Magazine, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Los Angeles Times, National Geographic, Sportsman’s Magazine, Woods & Waters, ESPN and others.
