October 2022 PRSC Meeting

John Odenkirk, Fisheries Biologist for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (formerly VDGIF), will be our featured speaker this month. John’s area of responsibility includes Northern Virginia, and he has spoken and written extensively about Northern Snakeheads in local waters. This month he will be speaking to us on Alabama Bass in Virginia and other invasive species.

This meeting will be via Zoom only. “Doors” will open at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, 26 October 2022. Speaker will begin at 7:30 PM. Zoom meeting information will be sent by email to PRSC club members.

August 2022 PRSC Meeting

Matt Miles is the featured speaker for our meeting on August 31st. He will speak about James River Smallmouth Bass and Beyond.

When: Wednesday, August 31st at 7:30pm – ‘Doors’ to the meeting will open at 7:00pm for socializing.

Matt Miles is the owner of Matt Miles Fly Fishing, LLC, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He grew up in Lynchburg and started fly fishing as a teen. After graduating from high school, he moved to Colorado to live out his dream of becoming a fly-fishing guide. After a few years in Colorado, he moved back to Lynchburg in 2003 to guide his home waters, where he now runs his own Orvis-Endorsed guide service, fishing for muskies, smallmouth bass, trout, and striped bass. Matt’s guided trips are run on the James, Smith, Jackson, and the Roanoke Rivers, to name a few.
